The word ‘yoga’ is derived from the ancient Indian Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ which means ‘to yoke’, i.e., to create a union. Different practitioners choose their interpretation of what, exactly, this union is. Some may see it as the union of mind, body and soul or spirit; others of our individual soul or spirit with the universal soul or spirit; some view this as the union between body and breath.
Using a variety of yoga philosophies and techniques ensures our yoga is suitable for all abilities, aiming that our classes are bespoke to those attending. Ultimately, we explore 'Yoga, meditation and Well-being' for the benefit of those attending.
For example: Hatha yoga is a generic term that refers to any type of yoga that teaches physical postures. Nearly every type of yoga class taught in the West is Hatha yoga. Hatha yoga is practiced at a slower pace, with a focus on the breath, controlled movements, and stretching. Whilst Vinyasa yoga focuses on connecting the breath to your movements, which tend to be set at a faster pace. In Vinyasa practice, you can expect to stay in a constant flow of movements.
Vajrasati yoga combines the postures, breathing and meditation techniques of classical/modern postural yoga along with innovative explorations outside traditional postures from a conscious subtle and energetic alignment perspective. This style of yoga is suitable for everyone whatever their age or previous experience, including complete beginners.
Chakra and Aura Healing witin a yoga class will unite the mind, body and soul, and as you progress will become more dynamic.
